3-roll machines are ideal for thick plates (≥20mm) and large-diameter coils. 4-roll machines are ideal for medium plates (6–50mm) and precision work. For plates ≥20mm, 3-roll is recommended. For plates 6–50mm with tight tolerance requirements, choose 4-roll for 40% faster cycle time and ±0.5mm roundness.
Variable center distance (VCD) means the upper roller can move independently in both horizontal and vertical directions, rather than being fixed. This enables 40% better pre-bending, tighter minimum rolling diameters, and 30% foundation cost savings.
