A plate leveling machine removes internal stress and geometric defects from metal plates using a series of upper and lower rollers that bend the plate repeatedly in alternating directions. The goal: transform wavy, warped, or poorly-formed plates into perfectly flat material.
After thermal or mechanical processing, plates accumulate residual stress and geometric defects (wave, warp, buckle). These cause problems downstream: welding gaps, dimensional drift in machining, uneven force distribution in pressing, and quality issues in end-products.

You need plate leveler if: (1) Hot rolled plates generate wave, warp or buckle defects; (2) Thermal stress after cutting leads to edge curling; (3) Customer drawing requires flatness within ±2mm/m before welding; (4) Processing high tensile strength steel over 1000MPa; (5) Cold forming workpieces need final stress relief flattening.
In heavy machinery industry, the two terms are frequently mixed. Leveling uses multi-row upper/lower rollers to eliminate tiny surface waves and residual stress. Straightening equipment only corrects large single bends with limited 2–4 roller structures, cannot remove internal plate stress thoroughly.
Absolutely yes. EZW43 standard series supports 690–1100MPa general high-strength alloy steel. EZW43CY exclusive armor steel model specially designed for 1100MPa bulletproof plate, adopting patented 17 roller precision flattening system only available from EZHONG in China.
32–50mm normal wave plate: 1–2 minutes per piece; 60–80mm heavy warp plate: 3–5 minutes; 100mm extreme stress armor steel: 5–10 minutes. Overall production capacity ranges 10–30 tons/hour based on raw plate flatness condition.
We provide optional EZW43V hot leveling series. All bearing assemblies are heat-resistant up to 300°C, suitable for steel mill hot rolling continuous line working with raw plate temperature 800–1050°C.
